The group was accompanied by Dr. Joon Yong Seo, associate dean of the School of Business, and Christopher Liucci, assistant professor of practice, accounting, and finance.

The itinerary was intentionally designed to complement students’ coursework while promoting career exploration, professional conduct, and real‑world engagement. The trip began with a business‑casual kickoff dinner hosted by Trustee Emeritus and alumnus Marty Keating ’75, who welcomed the group into his home and set the tone for the days ahead. Keating also led the students on a walking tour of Wall Street, offering historical context and industry insights from his own career.

Over the course of the trip, students participated in a series of scheduled visits to prominent business entities in the financial services sector:

  • Aon – Alumnus Justin “JT” Rivera ’18 gave students the chance to learn about insurance, risk management, and consulting career pathways.
  • Ernst & Young (EY) – Trustee Herb Engert ’89 shared insights into public accounting, advisory services, and expectations within a global professional services firm.
  • Goldman Sachs – Ashlee Bolton ’14 and Jacob Risavi ’21 shared more with students about the structure of a major investment bank, its departments, and its recruiting process.
  • Bloomberg – Hosted by Trey Fulton and Jared Wong, this visit highlighted the role of financial data, media, and analytics, including a hands‑on tutorial with Bloomberg terminals.

In addition, alumna Jennie Dede ’00 arranged a special observatory tour of the Empire State Building through her company, LinkedIn, giving students a unique perspective on both the city and the corporate environment within one of its most iconic landmarks.

Grau, who serves as president of the Investment Club, praised the group’s professionalism and engagement. “I am most proud of how professionally everyone conducted themselves on the trip. Everyone asked thoughtful questions, listened carefully, and took notes on topics they were interested in,” he shared.

For many students, the most valuable takeaway was the opportunity to hear diverse career stories from professionals across the industry. “Being able to ask questions about the financial industry and receive a variety of answers was incredibly meaningful,” Grau added. “Each person we spoke with had a different pathway, and they all came from different schools, majors, internships, and backgrounds.”

This annual trip remains a signature experience for the Investment Club, one that deepens students’ understanding of the financial sector, strengthens alumni connections, and showcases the professionalism and ambition of Fisher students in one of the world’s most influential financial hubs.
