Take your advanced practice nursing to the next level with Fisher’s online Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.
The St. John Fisher post-Master’s Doctor of Nursing Practice program is a stand-alone, non-licensing qualifying doctoral program that is open to master’s prepared nurses in direct and indirect care roles. This program builds upon master’s competency and professional expertise.
If you completed your master’s level course work at Fisher since 2018, the program may be completed in five semesters. Applicants who completed their master’s coursework at Fisher before 2018 or completed their master’s coursework elsewhere may complete the program in eight semesters.
Fisher also offers a full-time, 36-month, in-person dual-degree AGACNP and CRNA program that is 103 credit hours.

In the DNP program, you will complete a minimum of 33 credit hours of coursework. If you have completed your master’s degree coursework at Fisher since 2018, up to five courses will count toward the credit-hour requirement.
Students complete a total of 1,000 clinical hours in their DNP program; clinical hours from the master’s program count towards this total. Clinical hours are dedicated to the DNP Scholarly Project development and implementation and are completed in conjunction with an expert clinical scholar or mentor. You’ll implement the DNP Scholarly Project in an interdisciplinary setting, which may be your clinical practice site. This project allows you to implement emerging science and practice innovations to improve the health care system, with a specific population of interest. You will appoint a DNP Scholarly Project Committee to support your project development in collaboration with the Graduate Program Chair.
