Dr. Patricia L. Wollan has been appointed associate professor of finance at the School of Business at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. Dr. Wollan earned her Ph.D. in finance from The Pennsylvania State University. She holds an MBA degree from Old Dominion University and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from York University in England.
Before joining academia, Dr. Wollan worked in the business sector, as both an actuarial analyst and as a financial planner in the Virginia area. During that time, she received a number of investment and insurance licenses. In 1997, she began her academic career as a graduate assistant at Penn State University and has been at the Rochester Institute of Technology since 2003. While at R.I.T., Dr. Wollan was actively involved with students in a variety of roles, especially as a mentor of their Financial Management Association. Her primary teaching responsibilities have been in options and futures and financial analysis.
